We went to Cheung Chau Island, about a 30 minute fast ferry boat ride from Central in Hong Kong. Some people may prefer the "ordinary" ferry which takes approximately 50 minutes to get there. But to get to the Outer Island ferry piers, we first had to take the Star Ferry from Kowloon where our hotel is located to Hong Kong Island itself. From there, we went to Pier 5 where the Cheung Chau Island ferries are located. Luckily for us, the weather was nice on Cheung Chau Island while it was rainy in Hong Kong itself.
