Leaving Chiang Mai and Arriving in Hong Kong

We awoke this morning at 4 am as we had to leave for the Chiang Mai Airport at 5:30 am.  Once at the airport, we boarded the 7 am flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok.  Even though it was only an hour's flight, Thai Air served a scrumptious snack of a croissant breakfast sandwich, fruit, a muffin, water, juice, and coffee.  Hmmm, does Southwest Airlines even serve peanuts anymore?  Be that as it may, it was a short but enjoyable flight.  Once we were at Bangkok Airport, we seemingly walked miles through interminable terminals before we finally reached our boarding game.  At 11:10 am, our Cathay Pacific flight took off from Bangkok and we landed in Hong Kong at 3:10 pm.

Pepe, Jan, and Pixie all came out at 5:15 am to say good bye to us.
Leaving Golden Cupids Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand, was bittersweet as we were glad to be on our homeward leg of our trip.  But at the same time, it was sad as it felt as if we were leaving family behind.

The view of Hong Kong Island from our hotel window. The rectangular shaped building complex directly across from our window is the Hong Kong Museum of Art.  The dome structure in the lower left corner is the Hong Kong Space Museum.

As it is now ten past midnight here in Hong Kong, 9:10 am back home in California, I need to go to bed.  Good night one and all.  :-)
