Macau

We went to the former Portuguese colony of Macau that is now a Special Administrative Region of China and a mere hour's ferry boat ride away from Hong Kong.  Luckily or unluckily, Macau has now become one of the world's major gambling centers.  Some say that the casinos have been a boon to Macau due to the infusion of money from many investors, both local and from abroad.  Others say that the influx of gambling money has greatly damaged the charm of the former colony by allowing the casinos essentially carte blanche to do whatever they want.  Moreover, there is a growing concern that organized crime has inveigled its way into the city's governance.  Time will tell which side is right.

Be that as it may, we decided to visit the historical sites in Macau and ignore the casinos entirely.  If the casinos were hoping for a small infusion of money from us, they were sorely mistaken.  Thus if you are looking for casino photos, you will not find any.  However, here are some other photos of Macau.

Here we are on the ferry boat's "Superclass".   The Superclass is akin to
first class but it is worth it.  For the money, we received priority boarding and a
scrumptious snack of water, coffee,  and a sandwich.  But the biggest advantage is
that it is not crowded as it is in Economy Class which is packed full of people.

Here is a photo of all the other passengers in Superclass.  :-)
